One well-studied example is the FUT2 gene, which affects the composition of your gut lining and determines which bacteria can colonize it. People with certain FUT2 variants are more susceptible to gut dysbiosis and may need targeted probiotic support.

Another is the LCT gene, which governs lactase production. Variants here explain why some people digest dairy effortlessly while others experience bloating and discomfort after a single serving of milk.
